My vice....

I have a couple of things that I consider to be my vices. I looked up the definition to make sure I was using the word correctly, & yep, I am. Vice: (n) a habitual & usually trivial defect or shortcoming. I have TWO of those that hit me on a daily basis. Some of you may not think of these items as shortcomings....but what about temptations? Here are mine....try to control your gasping........

My coffee.....sigh.......with hazelnut creamer....I have been using that flavor of creamer since college.....now I just prefer it to be the sugar-free kind........

And of course, my Diet Dr. Pepper.......I cannot go a day without a few of these....well, ok, I could survive without one, but I wouldn't be as happy! How weak am I?

What are your vices?

She likes to share....

If MJ is eating something, which is quite often, actually, be prepared for her to want to share with you. She is a very giving little girl.......the soggy cheese balls & mushed up grapes aren't all that appetizing! ha ha But I LOVE this picture of her with the grapes filling up her cheeks.....& who can't love an orange mouth.....I have done more laundry because of those silly cheese balls!!! & don't bring out the jar unless you intend on handing them out...she sees that giant cheese ball jar & she won't leave you alone!!

I wore it today....

For my birthday, DJ & the kids got me a very pretty jewelry box. I don't own a lot of jewelry, but what I did have was stuck in odd places & not being kept in untangled groups. So needless to say, I LOVE my birthday present. Then I joked with the kids & told them for Christmas they could get me something to go into the jewelry box! That is exactly with Bergen & Mallory did.....off of the $5 rack at Walmart & I love it! Bergen got me 'the biggest diamond' he could find...it's obviously not a diamond. Mallory got me a very girly set with hearts....something she would totally pick for herself.

Some days passed & I had yet to wear Bergen's set.....he expressed his worries to me that maybe I didn't like the one he got me as much as the one Mallory got me. He was genuinely worried......so to put his fears aside, I wore it today......even though it needs an evening gown & not my usual jacket & jeans.....but I wore it & I LOVE it!!! I love you, Bergen.....

Jacobsen House....

In the Jacobsen house, if you are male, you get your hair cut by me......DJ is due for one, in fact (life keeps getting in the way). Mallory & I are the only ones who pay for haircuts & not very often at that! My trick is to sit the boys in a chair in front of the laptop watching old Batman episodes!! For DJ, just change it to Seinfeld.....& then me the barber takes over!!! It's actually a fun task for me & I haven't had many 'oops,' which is a plus since I am faking it all the way!

Bergen at the park...

Our typical Colorado weather has been up & down, up & down.....one day it snows & it's FREEZING & then a day or two later, it's warm enough for us to see our friends at the park. We did that not too long ago & this is what I saw Bergen doing.........

I love it!

A Christmas Season & a New Year....

Ok, so in an earlier post, I mentioned some "bad memories" this past season had for our family.......the traditional Eggs Benedict we have on Christmas morning was WONDERFUL....the first time around......the second time it was coming the other direction!! Christmas afternoon this hideous stomach bug that has been traveling around came home to visit me. Normally I appreciate visitors, I like to sit with them, enjoy some coffee & good conversation, but this particular visitor over-stayed it's welcome as later that night it visited Hatcher & then in the early morning hours, D.J. The only up-side is no gaining of any holiday weight!! But it was a bummer for me missing the prime rib dinner (D.J. said he never wants to eat prime rib again!). Then the bummer of it all spread as my parents & mother-in-law all had the same visitor, getting it at my house, I'm sure......
So, of course it wasn't all bad.....we had a nice time on Christmas Eve with D.J.'s family, going to church in Loveland & then back to the folk's house for wonderful Mexican fare. Christmas morning was fun, opening presents with the kids & my folks coming over to share in the festivities, all of which included a new Wii for our family. (This was a surprise from D.J. to the family & I was SHOCKED!!! I was speechless...I was without speech!)

I was focusing on the stained glass when Hatch's cousin, Jake, told him to "ssshhhh!"

Love this!

Aren't they just beautiful??

Berg & the car that drives on walls & ceilings....seriously...it's cool...

DJ's Seinfeld gift this year....every year there is something.....& this one is true!

And here I am with my beautimus granny readers....thanks, Mom

Mallory & Melissa love their new vests....thanks Ohmi & Papa!

Here is the reindeer Hatcher got for Bergen...it "poos" brown Jelly Bellies.....gross

Because of all the sickness, we decided to ring in the New Year quietly with just our little brood here at home....we didn't want to spread anything that was leftover or catch anything new....we played the new games we had gotten for Christmas & it was fun. Bergen & Mallory even stayed up until midnight to watch the ball drop (even though we had watched it drop at 10 pm our time already). I think Hatcher was disappointed in the "ball dropping"....I just don't think it was what he expected. We hope your families had a nice Christmastime & New Year also......thanks for reading our blog!!!

Bring it on, 2009!!!
